Satavisha earned her doctoral degree in 2017 under the supervision of Prof. Santanu Mukherjee from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, in the field of Asymmetric Organic Synthesis. Subsequently, she joined the research group of Prof. Masahiro Terada as a postdoctoral fellow at Tohoku University, Japan, followed by another postdoctoral research with Prof. Daniel Seidel at the University of Florida, USA. Before joining IISER Pune, Satavisha was an Assistant Professor at IIT Dharwad for a year.
